Groton Rotary Club
Special Meeting for the Boat Raffle
Remax Consultants -500 Bridge St.,
Groton Thursday June 3, 2010 5:30 PM

Present: John Silsby, Lian Obrey, Lea Doran, Bruno Giulini, Cathy Lathrop, Hope Toelken

Lian passed around copy of the tickets, they looked good.  It was mentioned that the area for the numbers needed to be printed with consecutive numbers.  We decided to print 1000.

We made a few changes to the poster, added some contact numbers and decided to print most of them up in the 8.5x11 size.  The updated file will be sent to Ed so it can go up on the website.

We need to account for all of the tickets.  Each person will receive a numbered block of tickets and we will keep a record of who receives each block and how many are sold from each block.

We will send around a sign-up sheet to the membership for ticket requests.

Hope already has a couple of businesses interested in selling tickets.

When we give tickets to businesses we will need to have a form they sign taking responsibility for the tickets.

Members need to stress that there will be fees involved when someone wins the boat.  They will need to move the boat within 20 days, pays sales tax, register the boat, get insurance, find dockage etc.

We discussed the complications that could arise around the use of the trailer and came to the general consensus that it would be better to have Bruce Avery move the boat and put it on poppets at Quick and Clean.

It was decided that Lea would call RB.

I spoke with RB and he agrees that having Bruce Avery move the boat would be the best scenario.  He will talk to Bruce and might be able to borrow poppets.  The cost to us will be $350, Bruce usually charges $500.
