Dear Fellow Rotarians,
![]()
We had a full meeting yesterday but managed to cover everything. Walt Brown celebrated his 89th birthday, Mike Riegel received his 5 years pin and Lee inducted Randy Tupas as a member of our club. We had a visitor, Trish Rowland, who submitted her application for membership and the Board voted to accept it this morning.
Foundation checks were passed out to eight local recipients. All expressed gratitude and made me wish that we could do more. Ed is publishing the list of 2006 recipients on the Website under "The Charities We Support."
Lee introduced his speakers who spoke on Hibred autos and had a most impressive slide show. Because they didn't use the microphone I missed most of what they said. It never ceases to amaze me how many people think their voices will carry. When most people stand up to speak in a crowded room they speak in a normal tone and don't project their voices. I've given up trying to hear some people.
At the board meeting this morning we voted to keep the annual dues at $110 and the initiation fee at $95. Annual dues are payable in July. The secretary will send out the bills. The certificates of membership into both Chambers of Commerce were filled out and will be dropped off at their respective offices. The Rotary sign for the entrance to Groton Inn and Suites has arrived and Ted offered to erect it in a couple of weeks when his schedule clears. It carries our meeting time and the Ledyard Club meeting time and Ledyard is sharing the expense with us. We discussed MOAF (Mystic Art Show) and it was tabled until you can have a voice in the decision. Personally, that wasn't the way I wanted to go because it was procrastinating but I was in the minority.
Bob Perry is looking for a place to store his Book Project for about six months. Anyone who has any ideas, please contact Bob at 536-4030.
Much time was spent on the budget. Frank and Lori are accustomed to working on budgets and they are both well qualified. It should make things a great deal easier for both the president and the treasurer next year and for years to come.
The Installation Luncheon is coming along nicely. I was disappointed that more of you aren't bringing spouses or guests but, at least, most of you are attending. Door prizes will be given out only to women. However, anyone can win a centerpiece. Lee has worked very hard on the Installation Ceremony itself. I am going to install Frank and he shall install the Board. Remember, it's going to begin early. 11:45 and we're not tied to ending at 1:30 but if you have to get back to work, that's okay. The incoming District Governor, Chip Lewis, will be there and shall say a few words. The cost per person is $15. If you have any questions please call me at 536-4775 or call Frank at his home, 445-0880. He's on vacation this week so can't be reached at the office or by E-mail.
I have asked Ed to post my new E-mail address on the Website. It is now bargo17@comcast.net.
I think I have included about everything. This shall be my last President's Page entry. Thank you for the support you have given me and I know that Frank can count on that same support.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara
May the life we live, the work we've done, and the service we give speak for us.
And, please bring a friend to our next
meeting.
June 13th, 2006
Good Morning Fellow Rotarians,
Not too many Rotarians attended yesterday's meeting but it was a good meeting.
Frank is taking reservations for the Installation Dinner. The choice is Baked Scrod or Roast Pork. There will be a time for a drink and chicken wings and fresh fruit platter beginning at 11:45 Hope you all will come and bring your spouse or a guest.
Our speaker was Trevor Gionet, a senior at NFA who spoke on his experience attending RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.) We had financed his trip and he wrote me to ask if he could come to thank us and to tell us about it. A remarkable young man.
We discussed the possibility of participating in the July 4th parade. Pete will loan us a convertible. Lian volunteered to drive. We'll talk more about this next week..
Next week we will have the recipients of our foundation checks, Randy's induction and a program from Lee.
Have a good week.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Isn't it good to see the sun?
Yesterday's meeting was another wet one but Rotarians are hearty and showed up.
Bruno presented a very surprised Robin Silsby with her Paul Harris Fellow. She was under the impression that John was to receive it and she was there as his support. Robin is a lovely young woman and works with us at the Senior Dinners so many of us know her.
Our speaker was CAPT Sean Sullivan ,CO of the Subase, who spoke about the base closing. He explained the entire process to us and was more informative than all the talks we had while the threat was taking place.
Yesterday was the deadline for requesting money from our foundation. The foundation board will meet soon.
High School interviews will take place Wed. the 24th and Thurs. the 25th at Fitch with Lian and me helping Fred. Ledyard interviews will be on Mon. the 22nd with Bo helping Fred. Fred would like one other volunteer for Monday. If you can give Monday afternoon to the cause please call Fred at 464-1607.
Regular board meeting was postponed from the 17th to the 24th.
Please get your Installation Dinner Reservations in to Frank as soon as possible.
Have a good week and I'll see you Tuesday.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
It's damp, it's cold, it's miserable. I am looking forward to spring when I can sit on my patio and read and doze. Old age and retirement are supposed to be comfortable. When is it going to happen?
Jerry Scarano received his 33 years lapel pin tab yesterday. Jerry has been a very active member for all those years too. He never sat back and said, "Been there. Done that." Thank you Jerry!!!
Lee gave a brief report on our blood drive for Skip. The board will discuss it further.
Mike Riegel asked us to help him in his support of the American Cancer Society. He said he'd match anything we gave and passed an envelope around. He was quite surprised to see we gave over $300!
Dave Stryker led the program yesterday with brainstorming about the auction. I think it was worthwhile. Ted took notes so we shall have something to refer to next Rotary year when we start our planning. We expressed feelings about certain aspects of the auction and came to the conclusion that changes could be made especially to lighten the pre-auction workup load on the auction Director. We also don't want it to be our only fund raiser.
Next week Bruno is presenting a Paul Harris Fellow to John Silsby. Please wear your ribbons.
The 23rd is SOY (Student of the Year). Jim Mitchell stopped by last night and I signed the letters going out to the schools. He'll have four students, each with two guests and school sponsor.
Next Tuesday, the 16th, is the deadline for requests for money from the foundation. Get the APPLICATION.
Tomorrow (Thursday, the 11th) the board is meeting at the Groton Town Hall at 8:00am for the sole purpose of budget. (Reg Bd meeting is Wed. the 17th) All members please bring expense accounts with them. I have the proper forms for you to fill out. This meeting is very important for Lori and Frank to do their jobs next year.
Have a good week and don't forget Mother's Day is the 14th. Enjoy your families.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

May 2nd, 2006
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Jerry Scarano returned to a very busy meeting today.
We had the five members of the GSE as our guests. They were delightful to be with. They spoke English and were enthusiastic with their questions before and after the meeting. I watched their faces during the meeting and they appeared to be interested in everything we did. And, they laughed and laughed with us. Antonio Ortega Rios is the leader and he introduced each member who gave us a brief bio. They wore blue blazers with Rotary pins on both lapels. Venezuela flags on the sleeve. I presented Antonio with our banner and he gave me a pin of crossed flags. The Venezuelan flag and the Rotary flag. I shall wear it with pride. After the meeting Bob, John and Ted took them to the USCGA for a tour of the museum.
Doretta Colburn attended today's meeting in her capacity as Asst. District Governor and I neglected to introduce her. She would have had some welcoming words for our guests.
Barry brought Nina Capone who spoke of a Care Package Drive for our CT troops who will be stationed in Afghanistan over the next year. The drive will be held on Sunday, June 25th at Washington Park in Groton. We didn't have the opportunity to discuss it today but it's something we should support and I'll have more details later.
I read a letter from Alan Hurst stating that the District Governor in 2008-2009 will be Richard B. "Rick" Benson. Anyone who objects to this nomination may write to Alan Hurst at 1 Spice Hill Drive, East Hampton, CT 06424 in the next two weeks.
I was pleasantly surprised to receive my 8 years tab. Dave Stryker, my sponsor, presented it to me. Can't believe I've been in Rotary that long.
Foundation requests must be in by May 16th. Request application forms can be found on this Website and I have extra copies.
Fred Keith is looking for volunteers to interview students who are eligible for scholarship money. The interviews will take place between the 15th and 22nd of May at Fitch and Ledyard High Schools. Please call Fred at 464-1607 if you would like to volunteer. I did it last year and it is a wonderful experience.
Lee Vincent is checking with the AMC to get the details for us to have a blood drive to honor Skip.
Have a great week. Remember to say a prayer for Barry's little grandson.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

April 26th, 2006
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Yesterday's meeting was most rewarding. Every April we host the Service Person of the Month for the Chamber of Commerce. Denny Hicks represented the Chamber. Our club presented the honoree with a $100 savings bond and lunch for his CO other military personnel.
Dave Brown became a member and Lee Vincent did his usual sensitive job with the indoctrination. Dave's sponsor, Stan Cardinal, was out of town so I filled in for him.
At this morning's board meeting we discussed the GSE visit in two weeks, the foundation board, a blood drive in Skip's name, replacing the Rotary sign at the Groton Inn & Suites entrance, the Student of the Year, and the need for more board meetings to catch up on last minute necessities. We shall announce on Tuesday that applications for grants from our foundation must be in by May 16th. Ed Kolar crashed the meeting to discuss next year's auction date. We were unable to come to a decision at this time. I have instructed the secretary to order the sign and also to bring our roster up to date so that Ed can update the website.
Frank read us the menu for the Installation Dinner. Prime Rib, Chicken Piccata, or Baked Scrod. More details later.
Lori, as Treasurer, gave us a complete set of reports from the new treasury program that Ed got for her from RI. She's very excited about the thoroughness of the program and is doing a fantastic job of implementing our data.
It's been wonderful to bring in three new members. Let's bring in more. Invite someone to join you and let's get our club moving.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

April 18th, 2006
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
As far as attendance was concerned our meeting today was pathetic. Under 20 members. Many people had told me they would be away and many didn't.
Of course there's no school this week and I'm sure that was a contributing factor. It's really too bad because the speaker was very good. Maggie Jones showed slides and spoke so interestingly about her position as Executive Director of the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center. The pictures were beautiful and we were amazed to learn just how many critters and birds are here. I had two turkeys in my yard last week.
Many of us may have had the problem I had. I left my home at 11:30 and arrived at Groton Inn and Suites at 1:00. I crawled from just beyond exit 89 to exit 88. Then I crawled to the traffic light on 184. I thought I was home free then but no such luck. I picked up speed to about 8 to 10 miles per hour until I reached Wal-Mart's and could make a left turn headed for GI&S. I walked into a dark room showing slides and was sun blinded for about ten minutes. Cathy Lathrop arrived in a few minutes. She had made the mistake of taking I95 from her office. Doretta was coming to hear Maggie but she gave up a little after one and went shopping. She showed up at 1:30 to show us her good intentions. I thought it was an accident but I have since learned that it was Road Construction. Inexcusable to detain people to that extent.
Next week we host the Service Person of the Month. This is done by the Chamber of Commerce and Mike will be our spokesman. I have purchased a $100 savings bond as our gift to him. Because it takes about three weeks, I have only a gift certificate. It'll be fine.
I reminded the club today of the dinner Saturday night at Groton Senior Center. Please be there at four to help set tables and get ready for the folks to arrive about 5:00. I won't be there because of a previous engagement but you all can handle things without me.
There won't be a board meeting tomorrow because too many officers are away. We'll meet next Wed. the 26th.
We still have some auction items to auction off. One of these days we'll be able to fit it in.
April 4th, 2006
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
We had a good meeting yesterday. Two visiting Rotarians and Lee inducted Cathy Lathrop into membership in our club.
I announced that Fred Keith won't be with us for a few weeks because he has undergone a hip replacement. He called me and he is doing very well.
Ted spoke of the upcoming Amber Alert meetings that will be taking place. My personal feeling is that we don't do enough to help out the other clubs. More of us should volunteer.
Special Agent Spencer Evans, from the FBI office in New Haven spoke on Identity Theft. It was fascinating and scary. One of the members suggested to me that we have him back for more questions and answers.
Last night many of us went to Applebee's where 10% of our bill was donated to Fitch Interact Club. I went with four neighbors and saw at least six Rotary families. George Letz was there with Bev, his bride of 60 years. I took it upon myself as president of the club and asked to speak to the manager to thank him for what he is doing for our Interact Club. He was pleased and thanked me profusely and even brought the district manager to my table to meet me. Made me think that maybe people don't thank people enough and too much is taken for granted. Just a thought.
Tomorrow Frank, John and I are going to Meriden to attend the district conference. Wish more members were going with us because they are so rewarding and educational.
Have a happy weekend and don't put away your winter underwear yet!!
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

Dear Fellow Rotarians
We had a very happy meeting yesterday. It was one of those days where everything came together the way it should.
RB received his one year pin and it was so rewarding for him. He flashed his big, beautiful smile at everyone.
Kim Winkelman became a member. Lee Vincent did his usual lovely ceremony. Kim was happy and as I looked out at the members there were smiles everywhere. Taking in a new member makes a meeting better!!
We can look forward to another new member next week when Lee will install Cathy Lathrop.
Lee was our speaker and spoke on "The Worst Mistake in Histotory...Sleeping With Pigs.." It was interesting, amusing and educational. Lee always entertains us.
In last week's page I told you about New London Rotary's "Rotary After Hours" party at Louie's in New London, but I didn't give you the date. It's Tuesday, April 25th. See last week's page for details.
Have a very good week and enjoy the warm weather.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

March 21st, 2006
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Second day of spring and we had a balmy 32 degrees today. My
hyacinths are poking up out of the ground and asking, "Who's in charge around
here?"
Today's meeting was mostly about our successful Auction. Ed, Jeannie and Larry
were our guests as a token for what they have done. We made over $11,000 which
is the first time we've gone over $9000. Feels good. We exchanged Auction
stories and experiences and breathed one big sigh of relief that it's over. Now
we spend the money.
I made the announcement that yesterday I received an e-mail
from Greg Leonard announcing his resignation from the club. Too many of the
meetings he must attend are scheduled for Tuesdays and he feels he is not able
to give Rotary the time he would like to. We shall miss him terribly. Greg was
always dependable and reliable and one of the best presidents we have had. I
shall never forget the way he thanked our guest speakers. So much class.
Last week Skip told us that he won't be coming for a while
because he thought he would be having surgery. This morning he called me to say
he has Leukemia. It was diagnosed yesterday at the hospital and they kept him
overnight to give him chemo. Skip has been a long time member of our Rotary and
a nicer person doesn't exist. He has his wife, Barbara, and his children but a
call from a Rotarian once in a while would be welcome. His telephone number is
464-2181.
Dan put Cathy Lathrop's letter of application for membership
on the tables today. Kim Winkleman will become a member next week. David Brown
gave us his application for membership today.
Barry gave a report on Interact. They had a great time on
camera at the auction and we're getting to know them on a personal basis. On
Tues. April 4th from 4-9 Applebee's will give 10% of your check to our Interact
Club. They are donating all the proceeds to the Groton Food Locker.
The sign up sheet for the dinner at the Groton Senior Center
went around and John has nine volunteers. Very good indeed.
The New London Rotary Fun Committee has invited us to another
Rotary After Hours party. No program, No speaker, No work. Just a Bunch of
Rotarians Having Fun. This party is Tues. 5-7 at Louie's Bar and Grille
(formerly the Sundowner Cafe)119 Broad St. N.L.
(Click the Map). I think it might be fun to participate in
these once in a while.
Have a good week and remember, IT'S
SPRING.
President Barbara

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Yesterday's meeting was quite lively with plans for the
auction. We're all looking forward to a busy and rewarding day. We have all
worked hard, no one harder than Ed, and have earned a rewarding day. Let's do
it!! Barry is bringing Interact members to help out wherever needed. Scheduling
is almost complete.
Received a sympathy card from Pam Akins who is donating to
Rotary International Foundation in Walt's memory. In Tuesday's mail I received a
thank you note for our club from Irene. I have acknowledged both.
Also on Tuesday I received a letter from Terri Arsenault,
Walt's daughter. She is not going to become a member of our club at this time
until she can hire and train an employee for Tuesdays. Her application and badge
will be held by the secretary until we hear from her. However, she and her
daughter Jennifer will be working at the auction, in the Bid Takers' Pit, on
Saturday.
After the auction I shall get together with Doretta Colburn,
Assistant District Governor, and we'll work on sending in an application for the
Governor's Citation.
Thursday, April 6th is District Assembly in Meriden. It's
from about noon through dinner. Would like more of next year's offers to sign up
by calling Frank Winkler or me. I have been to several of these assemblies and
they are valuable and interesting. There is so much to learn about our Rotary!!!
May 23rd is Student of the Year Day. Jim Mitchell is chairing
this event.
Let's all have a good time on Saturday at the auction.
Remember, it's dedicated to Walt's memory and do him proud.
See you on Saturday
Yours in Rotary,

I talked with Irene this evening and she is, understandably, holding up well in her state of shock. I asked her to call if there is anything she would like us to do as a group or individually. She was pleased and assured me that she would call if she needs anything at all. I instructed Pete to send flowers from our club to Irene because I feel there will be many at the funeral and I felt Irene should have them at home. They will be delivered tomorrow. I did not ask Irene for funeral details. I'm sure they'll be in tomorrow's paper or we can always get them from Greg.

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Walter Doolittle died at 3:00am today. When I get the details re his funeral I shall let you all know.
We all remember Walt as a very active individual. He would be the first one to say his suffering is over.
God bless him and keep him and make His eyes to shine upon him and give him peace for evermore.

January 3rd, 2006
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Rotary was cancelled today because of inclement weather. At 8:00 this morning I saw on television that schools were closed and there were many cancellations. I took a look outside and saw ICE all over everything. I waited until 9:00 to start calling and was able to get through the entire list in about an hour. No need to make up. I was my own telephone tree.
Nolan Nixon's son died this week. The funeral service was Saturday, Dec. 31st. He was 46 years old. It's a very difficult time for Nolan and he needs our support.
Frank, George and I have birthdays this week so we'll bring a cake to Rotary on the 10th.
Have a good week and a Happy New Year, President Barbara
Note from Webmaster: Nolan Nixon's address can be found in the Details pages.

December 27th, 2005
Good Afternoon Fellow Rotarians,
We did not have a very large group today because many of you are still away. However, it was a good meeting and we all had merry Christmases.
We were supposed to have our slate of officers for 2005-2006 ready to present today. I have not received final answers so it must be postponed.
Had a great couple visiting from Sparks, Nevada. They were married three months ago and came to CT to visit her son who is a submariner. We exchanged banners.
RB told us that Winnie Hurley died this week. Her funeral is tomorrow. Cliff is confined to a wheelchair so life is going to be difficult for him. For those of you who are old friends please stop by and visit him occasionally. If there is anything Rotary can do for him let me know.
Bob Perry leaves tomorrow for St Croix. He'll return March 1st.
My wish is that you all have a very Happy New Year. God Bless.
God bless, President Barbara

December 6th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Members of our Interact Club from Fitch High School joined us today and they are a delightful group. We had at least two members at each table so they had the opportunity to talk with us. It's exciting for our club to have a part of this new group.
Our speaker was Dean Brown who spoke on Pearl Harbor. He dredged up memories for most of us. At the end of his talk a woman who came with him played taps on a bugle while Mike Riegel read the words. It was a moving experience. Taps always is sad so our meeting ended on a very somber note.
Lian said the December 3rd Christmas Parade was a huge success. She thanked John Silsby and Frank Winkler for their cooperation.
Skip Krawczyk is having surgery on his back this week so he'll be missing for a while. We wish him well.
On November 27th Greg Leonard's brother, Daniel, died. Our prayers go out to Greg who lost a brother who was far too young.
After the meeting we had a short board meeting re: the Williams family in Groton. They lost everything in New Orleans. The board voted an expenditure of $1000. $800 to buy them the car that Dan Boisvert told us about. We shall ask Stan if one of his mechanics will check it out for us. We'll donate the remainder of the money for new clothes.
Perhaps our Webmaster will be back next week. He's been gone so long we probably won't recognize him.
Have a wonderful Rotary week.
God bless,
President Barbara

November 30th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
President-elect Frank Winkler conducted Tuesday's (November 29, 2005) meeting of the Groton-Ledyard Rotary Club in the absence of President Barbara Buchanan who was unable to attend the meeting.
The club was treated to an informative talk on the Town of Groton school improvements, whose financing was approved by voters last year. Wes Greenleaf, Director of Facilities, for the Groton school system, outlined the coming improvements planned for the elementary and high school facilities. Ground is expected to be broken sometime next year.
Major changes include the construction of a new school to replace the Eastern Point Elementary School. The new school will be built on the so-called N. B. King property just off Poquonnock Road near Electric Boat's R & D Annex.
Improvements at the high school school, include the construction of a three-story building which will be home to all academic programs.
Wes promised to return after construction is underway and update the club on the school building construction project.
Jerry Scarano, who spends the winter in Florida, was obviously not here to pay the $2 to hear the club sing him and his wife our classic version of Happy Anniversary.
President Barbara will receive her thirteen weeks of service wine glass upon her return next week.
Frank alerted members of the Rotary Board of a possible meeting directly after next Tuesday's regular meeting. It is hoped that the Board can focus on the subject of what to do to help the family displaced by the New Orleans hurricane and now relocated to Groton.
The Club had two visitors, both who attend our club frequently enough, that we normally recognize them as "Honoray Members" of the Groton-Ledyard Rotary Club. Our guests were Doretta Colburn, Assistant District Governor and a member of the Stonington Rotary Club, and Bruce Barrett from the New London Rotary Club.
Just a reminder that President Barbara is still looking for Rotarian Santas to help out in downtown Mystic during the holiday weekends. Give her a call if you feel the holiday and Santa spirit.
As President Barbara would say, "Have a great Rotary week'" Hopefully we will see many of our members next week when members of the Fitch Interact Club will be our guests, and our speaker will be Charles Ripple, a Pearl Harbor survivor. The topic of his talk will be Pearl Harbor.
See you next week, Pres. Elect Frank Winkler

November 22nd, 2005
It was a rainy November day but we had a good turn out.
And, bring a friend to our next meeting.
November 17th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians
Skip received his 20 year pin today. That's quite an achievement considering all his surgeries and hospital stays. Congratulations Skip.
We had some sad news for the club. Teddy Vaughan has purchased a home in WI and will be leaving here early in December. Teddy has been a wonderful Rotarian. He served on the board and was always helpful. He lived the four way test and always put Service above Self. Teddy, we shall miss you more than I can say. Good luck.
Our speaker was Chris Clark the director of utilities at Mohegan Tribal Nation. He went in to detail for us so we can better understand the Thames Basin Regional Water Interconnection Project.
Next week is assembly where we can go into more detail about what the board would like to do re the auction and the Interact Club. I have a box of Groton-Ledyard shirts that will be for sale for $20 each. I think there's a variety of sizes there.
On Wednesday the board gave $100 to our Interact Club for seed money. We have also asked Barry to arrange for the 12 students to visit us for a luncheon. They need to put faces to their benefactors and to see what Rotary is about.
I'm a little disappointed in my Santa list. I had hoped more people would sign up. We need to supply a Santa every Saturday and Sunday afternoon during the month of December. The hours are 12:00 to 2:00 or 2:00 to 4:00.
It's really a fun thing to do and those who have done it before have signed up again.
Some of you know (particularly the board) that Prince William, my Birman cat, accidentally bit me on the hand. I have seen the doctor, gotten a tetanus shot and am on anti-biotics. Thank you board for insisting I have it looked at.
Have a glorious weekend. I shall see you all on Tuesday,
_____________________-=*=-_______________________
November 8th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I'm a bit late getting this written. It's been a busy week for me.
Dr Edward Monahan spoke to us about "Rowing Old Gracefully." It must be a fascinating sport. I don't think I'm ready to try it out but I could see by your faces that some of you were sold. Good luck.
Mike Riegel reports that more checks have been turned in for our foundation. They are all for the full amount, $100. This is good, but I really want us to get as close to 100% as possible and it isn't necessary to pay all at once. Installments between now and the end of June should be easy to do. Please contact Mike and lets all become sustaining members. I sure would love to have that on my president's record! You may also give more than $100 if you so desire.
On Friday night Ted Colburn is going to represent our club at the District Foundation Dinner in Wallingford. Thank you, Ted.
Next Tuesday Skip will receive his 20 years pin. Way to go, Skip!!
After his report re: Interact, Barry received an ovation. He has done a spectacular job. Papers were signed by me this passed weekend and we have 12 members already. I'm going to speak to the board about having them as our guests perhaps the week between Christmas and the New Year when they are off from school. I feel they should put some faces to their founders. I'd appreciate some input from you before the board meeting next week.
This year we are going to do our Santa Claus job for Mystic (Groton side) Chamber. I shall bring in the schedule on Tuesday and I hope you'll sign up for it. It's really fun. All you do is talk to children, if you want to, and pass out candy canes. The Santa suit is provided by the Cooper Shoppe and you have a throne to sit on with our banner on display. Mystic Rotary is across the street all day ringing bells for the Salvation Army. We work 3 hours Sat and Sun afternoons.
Ed will not be return from WI until after Thanksgiving. His puppy (FeFee, a Bichon Frise) has had a very serious accident and is hospitalized. On the 24th of October, she was dragged by a passing car for about a mile and a 1/2 and has been in the hospital ever since. She lost skin, hair, the end of one rear toe, and needed about a hundred stitches but is well on her way to a full recovery
I'm a real softie for animals and this broke my heart. The good news is that Ed will be away longer, the bad news is that FeFee was injured.
Think winter is fast approaching us. Keep warm, stay healthy and get your flu shots.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

November 1st, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
It was heartwarming to have Paul Harris' two weeks in a row. Today Paul Harris' went to Vicki Anderson and Pat Anhalt in memory of his late wife, Linda. Bill Anhalt received his sapphire pin for his second Paul Harris. Jim Mitchell did a thoughtful presentation. It was the first time Jim had done this but, hopefully, he'll do more in the future.
The speaker was Eileen Cicchese, Special Needs Coordinator for the town of Groton Parks and Recreation. She showed a video tape of what is being done for handicapped people. Very interesting.
Last week we began our Every Rotarian Every Year for Foundation month which is November. Mike Riegel is chairing the event and we hope for 100% participation. Every member of our club will donate $100 this year toward Rotary Foundation. It can be donated any way that is convenient for the individual. Mike will accept $2 per week if that's what someone can do. I started it off last week with my check in the amount of $100. Three more checks were turned in today. I really want this to be a success.
RB is on crutches because of a skiing accident ten years ago. Seems he has problems with it periodically. Walt Doolittle was there and looking good, but he tells me he is very tired.
Have a great week and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Wish every member of the club could have been at the meeting
today. The District Governor, Alan Hurst, presented Paul Harris Fellows to Ted
Colburn, Moshe Laurie and our Honorary Rotarian, Jas Bindra. Jas' wife set up
the surprise for Jas and even had a bouquet of flowers for him. Alan was very
helpful in his talk. We must get more involved in our community. He spoke of
Soup Kitchens, Food Banks, sponsoring a Blood Drive, (Waterford Club did that a
few weeks ago) matching grants, and planting a tree. I have decided to set a
date every month for members to bring non perishable food for a food bank. We'll
discuss having a blood drive. Bill Johnston suggested we plant three trees. One
at each high school.
Barry Leon is moving ahead rapidly with our Interact Club at
Fitch High School.
The principal is supporting the creation of the club and he and the math chair,
Mike Emery are going to be co-advisors for the time being. They have 10
enthusiastic members. I am so proud of what Barry has done. Greg Leonard, as
Vocational Chair, has agreed to be Barry's contact with the board. Thank you
Greg.
We had a dinner at the Senior Center on Saturday night. Ten
people signed up and three showed up. Fortunately, Robin Silsby was there
substituting for her husband, John, who was out of town. One of our Past
Presidents, Ted Colburn, just stopped by to see how things were going. He stayed
and helped us and we really needed him. I thank Lian and Frank for their
participation. Ted suggested that we use some of our Interact members in the
future. Good idea. It's never too early to learn what Rotarians do. You know,
listening to Alan today, I'm prouder than ever to be a Rotarian!!
Let's try even harder to make others proud. Bring a friend
(or even someone you don't particularly like) to Rotary next week.
Yours in Rotary,
President Barbara

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
The sun was shining brightly and everyone was happy. We had a very informative speaker. Heather Medic from the Aquarium showed slides and told us all about seals and turtles. Fascinating.
Walt Doolittle was there and looking healthy after his surgery. Can't keep a good man down!!
Barry and RB brought their wives. It's always nice to have the spouses visit and they seem to enjoy it.
I spoke to Walt Doolittle about not passing around the sign up sheet for the auction. This year we're going to try to make it a bit more interesting by putting together people who compliment one another. At the board meeting tomorrow we'll discuss some other possibilities to make our presentation more "alive."
My feeling is that we work very hard for a very long time for too little money. Hope we can improve upon that.
Next week the District Governor will visit. He is going to present five Paul Harris Fellows. We'll have many guests. Greg Thevenet suggested that we get dressed up. Let's do it, and be sure to wear your medals.
Have a great Rotary week, President Barbara

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Jo Beebe, a former member, spoke of her experiences as a
volunteer in Baton Rouge. It must have been a moving experience that one would
never forget or want to repeat. We praise Jo on the sacrifices she made to help
others. At heart, she is still a Rotarian.
Frank brought two guests. The new director of Boys and Girls
Club and her assistant.
Dottie Paige was the club's invited guest to thank her for
the sign she made for us for MOAF. She is a local artist and we were fortunate
that she agreed to do this.
This week I received a short note from Ira Schwartz. He is
very happy in his new home in NH. His address and telephone number follow.
Ira Schwartz, 55 Kent Lane, Apt E206, Nashua, NH 03062 (603)888-3383.
Barry Leon is holding an organizational meeting at Fitch High
School on Wed to see how much interest there is in an Interact Club. He has two
co-advisors until the club gets up and running. Barry has the support of our
club behind him. We haven't had an Interact Club since the early '80's when our
club at Ledyard High was dissolved because we couldn't get a faculty advisor..
Yours in Rotary,
President Barbara

October 4th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
The weather was
beautiful and the attendance at Rotary was good. Skip and Lian returned from
their excused sick leave.
Our speaker was Jenny Smith, advisor to Interact at Morgan
High School in Clinton. She brought with her Linda Beavers, Clinton Rotary's
Secretary. Linda attends all the Interact meetings. I had asked Jenny to speak
because we are beginning to talk about an Interact Club at Fitch High School.
Barry Leon is heading up this project. He spoke with Jenny and Linda after the
meeting and shall be in touch with them with any questions he might have.
I had a telephone call from Trevor Gionet a few days ago. He
is a member of the Mystic Youth Group, a group of teenagers from all the high
schools sponsored by the Mystic Rotary. He attends NFA and
lives in Gales Ferry. At the suggestion of Barry Sulik, President of Mystic
Rotary he asked if our club would sponsor him to the Rotary Leadership Awards
October 28th to 30th. Mystic was already sponsoring their two allotted
applicants. I was impressed with the way he made his presentation so I told him
I would take it before the Board. His Mother brought me all the info today and I
asked the Board to vote on whether or not we would spend the $225. I
had the application and his resume. The Board voted 8 in favor and 3 opposed.
Richard gave me a check and I called Trevor's Mother. She brought him to my home
to pick up the check. I was even more impressed when I met him beginning with
his firm handshake. He's the kind of son we would all be proud to have. He
promised me that he would come to our Rotary the first Tuesday he has free to
tell us about the conference and to thank us, personally. I felt good that we
had, yet again, reached out to the youth.
Yours in Rotary,
President Barbara

September 20th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
We had a great time at Rotary today. John Silsby brought the dictionaries and
Jim Mitchell brought the labels and we all worked as one to put everything
together and get them in the boxes for the designated school. It is the first of
what will be an annual program. While I conducted the meeting everyone was busy.
There wasn't anyone who sat back. Even the guest speaker, Helen Giordano,
pitched in. It was truly a "Rotary at work experience."
Helen told us about the program VISTA has on helping grandparents who are
raising grandchildren.
The District Governor was scheduled to be with us next week but he has a
business meeting that he can't reschedule. He'll send us another date. The
governor was going to install a Paul Harris Fellow. We have postponed that for a
week. Next week will be assembly.
We had a board meeting after our regular meeting because we wouldn't have had a
quorum tomorrow. We discussed what we would do for Hurricane Katrina. We think
we would like to subsidize a family moving into the area. Jim and I shall be
working on that possibility and have more info for the assembly meeting next
week. Hope we have good attendance because we need input.
Yours in Rotary, President Barbara

Dear Board Members,
We have been unaware of what Rotary is doing for the
hurricane. All the Rotary Clubs in the area have banded together and are
collecting clothing and food. Mike Walsh at Tee's Plus is spearheading the
project and has sent several trucks south. We have done nothing except to raise
a little money. What do I have to do to get us started on working hard? I'll
have more info on Tuesday but be ready for some serious work.
Yours in Rotary, President
Barbara
-=*=-
Dear Members,
Today I sent the above message to the board. We must get busy
and join the other clubs in the area. We can begin by bringing socks and
underwear to the meeting on Tuesday. I shall drop it off at the drop off point
in Groton. It's a very small beginning but let's begin!! Housing is needed. To
my knowledge, three families are coming up so far. Please tell me our club can
work as hard as Mystic and Stonington.
We need to put some "life" into our club. The best way is to give "life" to
other people.
Hoping to hear from all of you!!

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
We were a smaller group this week but a happy one. Things ran
smoothly. My meeting with Bev last week went very well. She's willing to do
anything, within reason, to improve our meals. We went over the scheduled meals
for the year and made some changes. Ed and Jeannie Kolar worked on a menu for
the year and Ed sent it to me. Very good ideas. If anyone knows good food, it's
Ed!! This weekend I spent many hours going through cook books and found several
recipes for crowds that would be suitable for our buffet. I typed them, made
copies and gave them to the chef today. Next. Bev and I shall meet again and go
over the old menu, Ed's menu and the new recipes. I am really trying to improve
things for you. The day I see Bruno come in with a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich I'll know I have failed.
Several of you gave me checks today to send to the District
Governor for Rotary to help with Hurricane Katrina. Dave Stryker told me of more
info from the Governor of Rotary. He's going to forward that to me and we shall
continue our support.
Karen Weiss, Stonington Sanitarian, was our speaker and we
learned a great deal about the sanitation of our community. Some of us who
worked on MOAF had met Karen when she checked us out on
Saturday and we knew she meant business!
Delivered the laptop to Dan and I'm sure he's anxious to get started on it. It's
supposed to simplify the secretary's job.
Please contact me with anything that you feel needs my attention.
Have a good week.
President Barbara

Dear Fellow
Rotarians.
Rotary District Governor Don Chauvin, District 6200, is taking
donations for Rotary to help the Katrina survivors. As you
know, through Rotary, all the money is used for it's intended
purpose. Checks should be made out to "District 7980
Foundation, Inc." You may either give your check to me on
Tuesday or mail it directly to our DG.

August 30th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Today's meeting was a disaster at every turn. Even I wanted to walk out. The trouble began when we ran out of space and had to put chairs up to a table holding eight people and two members sat at the head table. There were three mistakes on the agenda which made me look and feel like I wasn't in control of the meeting. Bob Perry had 37 years perfect attendance last week and was on vacation. We weren't ready with his hanging tab a week later. The room looked sloppy. One banner was hung on a light fixture and was crooked. The other banner was draped over a podium. Neither of our stands were used. The food was good and I had a meeting with Bev regarding our menus. There will be some changes made. The saving grace today was Mike Stryker, our speaker, who spoke on The History of Rotary. Informative and very well done. I'm expressing my feelings because I heard someone say I was getting feisty. Guess I can only take a few errors at a time when I work so hard all week to have things run smoothly. Yes, I did get feisty. I'm sorry.
I'm happy to report that Ted Colburn met Stacey Debruin and she is planning on coming back to Rotary. She has had a very difficult time with her health and hopes that soon she'll be able to get around.
Tried to reach Lian to find out about her surgery but wasn't able to. Skip is only "so so" and in a great deal of pain but he'll be back.
The District Governor is coming on the 27th of September. Bo will be ready to have Alan install a Paul Harris Fellow. Be sure to wear your Paul Harris medals.
Reading Challenge Recognition Day is September 28th. John Silsby and I will be at Fitch Middle School to present the dictionaries to third graders.
Thank you, President Barbara

August 4th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
Despite the meatless lasagna we had pleasant, informative meeting. Our speaker was Donna Kirby Reynolds who spoke on Personal Protection. She gave us her booklet entitled, "Refuse to be a Victim." So much valuable info. Wish I had more copies for my daughters.
Dan and Lori received glasses for 13 weeks perfect attendance. It was Dan's first. It occurred to me looking at Dan in the secretary's chair and his glass in front of him how proud Bernie must be. Remember, Bernie was a former District Governor. Really big shoes to fill, Dan.
Ira Schwartz is moving to New Hampshire to live closer to his daughter. This was his last meeting after many years. We shall miss him and his stories. He received a well deserved standing ovation.
After the meeting we had a short Foundation meeting and a MOAF meeting. Plans are coming along for the Art Festival and I appreciate all the work going into it. We're going to have a MOAF meeting again this week. Some members will be at the location at 6:00am setting up the tent. Don't think I'll be one of them. Ed requests that everyone that can please do take pictures all day of this event. Get the pictures to me, either digital or regular photos, and I will get them to Ed for the Website.
Have a healthy, happy week and I shall see you on Tuesday.

July 20th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
This is the beginning of my second term as president and I am optimistic. We're going to have a good year.
At our meeting yesterday, July 19, 2005, Bud Fay gave us an update on the BRAC committee. Personally I was encouraged. We'll see.
We had several guests; Barry Leon (our prospective member), Walt Brown's grand niece from Scotland, and visiting Rotarians from Hawaii, Westerly , Stonington and Mystic. Our Assistant District Governor, Doretta Colburn presented us with the Service Above Self banner from Carl-Wilhelm Stemhammar, Rotary International President. She also gave me pins that I shall distribute next week.
We presented Greg Thevenet with a gift of appreciation for his many years as Club Treasurer. He was always available and his office staff Pam and Bonnie were ready to help in any way. Thank you, Greg.
Frank stepped in for Vicki and introduced Bud. Bill Anhalt has been filling in as Sergeart at Arms until we could find someone who would take it on weekly. Bill spends a great deal of the winter in AZ and FL.
Had our monthly board meeting this morning. Welcomed Bob Perry and Richard Abston to their first board meetings for the Rotary year 2005-2006. We voted on Barry's application for membership and a letter will go out to the members with our support.
Mike Riegel and I are going to work on a yearly calendar so that we'll know what is coming and won't be tripping over each other with speakers. We are also going to get members to sign up for speakers on a monthly basis. This should make things easier. I'm sure Vicki has felt the pressure and will be grateful.
Moshe has been very anxious to get involved with our International Service. Greg Leonard is going to speak to him about what we can do so you can expect some activity in that department.
Bruno is going to be our Club Service Director. Frank will be on his committee as Public Relations Director. We now know how to get publicity in The Day so Frank will have a contact.
Our new Sergeant at Arms is Bruno. And when I say "arms" please remember that he carries a gun. Be prepared for BIG fines.
We discussed the MOAF and are looking forward to our two days selling popcorn and pretzels. I need to find a committee to help me work out the details. Any volunteers?
The board has been very helpful with suggestions and I feel that many of them shall work some hours. Please call me for details if you would like to help. 536-4775.
There have been many complaints about the food. I shall have a meeting with Bev and we'll see how it can be changed.
Please keep in touch and tell me if you have any problems. The board and I shall do our best.
Thank you, President Barbara

July 12th, 2005
Dear Fellow
Rotarians.
We had quite a day. Because of the many unexpected guests some of us
didn't get enough to eat. Thank you for your patience and tolerance.
Groton Inn & Suite's staff were on their toes. Sharon needed
help and Bev helped by putting up another table. They're very
good to us.
Mike Stryker did a good job, as he always does, with the Diary of a WWII
soldier. I don't wonder that Dave wanted to introduce him.
He's a son to be proud of. We ran over but most of you stayed
making me proud.
Gil Gunn is to be congratulated on his 44 years of perfect attendance.
Don't think I'll be able to catch up. Mike Riegel had 4 years
perfect attendance. He's younger. Maybe he'll catch up.
I hope to hear from some of you about advertising in the Rotary supplement
coming out in The Day the end of the month. I didn't give them
our membership list so I'll do the soliciting myself.
It was a pleasant
surprise to have Stu Murray back with us. He has been absent for three and
a half years taking care of his wife, Sarah, who recently died. We shall
welcome him back to our club and be as helpful in his sorrow as we can.
Have a good week,
and I'll see you on Tuesday. Try to bring a prospective member.
Thank you, President Barbara

June 28th, 2005
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
We had our Foundation Grants program yesterday and it was quite a challenge but
Frank and I somehow pulled it off with the help of Dan and Richard who were
first day on their jobs as secretary and treasurer.
Because of Mike's absence we didn't have the names of the recipients who were
going to attend. Frank went from table to table taking down all the names of the
recipients and who they represented not realizing that I had a list of the
foundation grants. If he had known about my list his job would have taken about
one third the time. With great difficulty and compassion Frank forgave me. The
following received a contribution: Alliance for Living, Bill Memorial Library,
Big Brothers Big Sisters, Child and Family Agency, Community Enterprises, Fitch
Middle School, Fitch High School, Ledyard High Graduation Party,L.U.N.C.H. ,
Special Olympics, Town of Groton Parks and Recreation, West Side Middle School,
Habitat for Humanity.
Fortunately, Greg was there and it warmed my heart to see him and Richard
sitting at a table writing out checks. Dan was very brave and did what he was
told by either Frank or me. We surely missed Mike but covered beautifully.
It was a rewarding meeting for me. We gave out the money we have raised and came
together as a family so that our guests were not uncomfortable.
We did have a moment of silent prayer for the Flying Rotarians who died on
Monday.
Thank you, President Barbara

Dear Fellow Rotarians and Guests,
We had a great Installation Dinner on Thursday, the 23rd at Groton Inn and Suites. I tried to do everything that was expected of me but neglected to introduce the guests. Please accept my apology. Guess I think of most of you as family.
Beverly at GI&S did a superb job for us. Food was delicious. Most people ordered Prime Rib and it is always a hit.
I awarded Ed Kolar with a President's Citation because of all the hours he has put in to help us with our successful auction. Ed is always there to help any one of us with our personal computer problems. He spends a great many hours at my computer!!!
The Scarano Award went to Bill Miller. Bill is always there as we come in and reminds us to pay, take tickets and pick up our badges. He has been doing this for many years and sometimes I feel we take people for granted. Thank you Bill, for making this president's job a bit easier.
The down east quilt was raffled off and Bill Anhalt was the lucky winner. He immediately offered it up for an instant auction. I started it off at $60 and then Moshe did a fantastic and lively job of getting a final foundation donation of $220 from Pete Lampasona. Pete, the foundation thanks you sincerely.
Gerry Scarano did a beautiful, sensitive job of swearing in the Officers and Directors. I hope I speak for the entire board when I say I felt proud to be a Rotarian and look forward to doing even more next year.
Thank you, President Barbara

President Elect Frank Winkler left today to attend PETS in Nashua, NH. I talked with him this morning and he was looking forward to the experience. He'll be able to tell us all about it on Tuesday.
The Auction prep is moving right along nicely. The retail value of our auction is now over $21,000. Walt has the Toaster ready for the show an Ed has the Proxy Bidding all set to start Saturday afternoon as planned so Go to the List and hit the Proxy Button and bid, bid, bid. And, tell all your friends to just go to grotonledyardrotary.org/list and they can place a proxy bid too. Placing the www in front of 99% or web addresses is usually not necessary now days.

Please make every effort to round up your auction donations as soon as you can. The more time Ed has to get the graphics for each donation done the better they will be and the more Web time each Donor's pictures will have before the auction. Things may be dropped off at Ed's house most anytime after a call and Slips can be just sent to him USP as well. The auction is now at $13,000 in value.
We, the board, have received Bill Oat's official resignation from our club and he will be joining the Mystic Rotary Club as soon as the paperwork catches up to him. Bill Oat was a hard working Past President of our club and was considered a great asset on any project he tackled. He will be missed and we wish him the very best.

Dear Fellow Rotarians, January 29th 2005
On
Tuesday we welcomed Agnes Cunha as a Paul Harris Fellow.
This was made possible through a donation from Russ Vile who performed the
installation. Agnes was most deserving and Russ surprised us with some of
her accomplishments.
A board meeting was held after the meeting to discuss the election problems with the members of the nominating committee, of which only Jim Mitchell was in attendance. We had a good discussion and hopefully it is now behind us. It was determined that we , in fact, did elect the nominating committee's recommended slate of officers with the addition of my staying on as President for an additional year to bring our club into congruence with the RI Constitution change that occurred several years ago but was either not understood or missed until the day of this election.
I want to thank the board and the few members who remained to take part in the discussion.
Please let us move on and get our Rotary business done.

Fellow Rotarians, January 19h, 2005
Wednesday, January 19, 2005, the Groton/-Ledyard Rotary Board of Directors met at my home at 8:00am.
We had a very good, productive, meeting. John Silsby reviewed the presentation of dictionaries to third graders. The next dinner at the Groton Senior Center will be held on April 23rd.
Lori is planning the wine tasting with her committee, Michelle and Dan. It shall be held in conjunction with our 50th anniversary. More on that later.
We had a discussion re the letter written by the secretary to all members. It is time we enforced the rules of RI and all agreed that we do it. The letter was not meant to offend anyone.
We discussed the election of our officers. We regret that some members appear to have left the club because of it. We are having a meeting next Tuesday after our regular meeting with members of the nominating committee. Hopefully, this will be solved.
Thank you. Have a good Rotary week, President Barbara

Jerry Scarano called me last evening to say that Ellie is hospitalized with a slight stroke. It has hit the right side of her brain which controls her left side. She can move her arms and legs but her speech is affected. She'll be hospitalized for a few days. I'll talk with Jerry tomorrow and Sunday and have an update for you on Tuesday.
We should all know the SAS test, it could save a life.
Thank you, President Barbara

Our next board meeting, scheduled for the 19th at Groton's town hall, will still take place on the 19th but the location will be in my living room. The Town Hall was previously booked but my Living Room had an opening so we will have it there instead. If you need directions, just call me. All are welcome. I hope someone brings Donuts.
Talked with Ira Schwartz
after the meeting. He is taking medication that prevents him from driving. I
assured him I would arrange for someone to pick him up for Rotary.
I am very uncomfortable with the results of the election. I wanted to be
president for two years but not this way. It is my understanding that we have
lost one member and may lose another. I would like very much to sit down and
talk with anyone who is thinking of leaving the club over the results of the
election.
Plans are in the making for our 50th anniversary. I shall need a committee to
help.
Thank you, President Barbara

I would like to thank you all on behalf of George, Frank, and myself for the wonderful birthday meeting. Attendance was very good, lets match it again next week. Maybe even bring a guest. Please call or e-mail Vicki to schedule any potential speakers.
It was very nice to see Dick Kent at our meeting as a member instead of being a guest. Welcome to our club.
Please start thinking "AUCTION DONATIONS" !! Donation sheets will be handed out next Tuesday. Lets make this the most profitable auction in our 25 years of annual auctions. Please give a call to Ed Kolar to arrange any donation drop-offs, he will be storing items in his locked garage until the day of the auction. Blank 2005 Donation Forms are in our FTP area.
Thank you, President Barbara

On Tuesday, after I got home from our meeting, I received a packet of thank you notes from third graders. They are so happy with their dictionaries. The letters are delightful to read and I shall bring them to Rotary on Tuesday the 4th.
Please, be proud of what you have done.
Thank you, President Barbara

Assembly meetings will be the fourth Tuesday of the month. I shall ask Vicki not to schedule speakers at that time.
Thank you, President Barbara

We held our annual Election of Officers and Board Members today. The results were unexpected and caused by an RI rules change that unfortunately we were unaware of until Mike Reigel caught it last night while reading through RI By-laws. The results can be viewed by clicking your mouse HERE. Please view these results at your convenience. On behalf of the entire Elected Slate we thank you for your support and confidence.
Thank you, President Barbara

You will find all the forms you need for signing up to attend the Chicago Convention that marks our 100th Rotarian year. in the latest Rotarian Magazine, in the back cover area. Please consider going and make your decision known at the weekly meetings to inspire others.
On a sad note...
The long standing tradition of our club being the Downtown Mystic Santa Clause
will have to be cancelled due to a lack of Rotarians volunteering to be the
Santa. We needed 8 total and we only had 3 volunteers.
Thank you,
President Barbara
