The following received a Grant:

  •     West Side Middle School - Mentoring Program

  •      Fairview Odd Fellows Home - to purchase three 17 inch flat screen monitors

  •     Hospice of SECT - for its Hospice Regatta Series

  •     Christopher Trammell - for his Eagle Scout Project which consists of designing and building raised gardens at the Riverfront Children’s Center

  •     The DNA Epicenter - for summer camp scholarships for science students from Fitch, Westside and Cutler Middle Schools

  •     The Lighthouse Vocational Education Center - for scholarships for children with disabilities to attend programs

  •     Town of Groton Parks and Rec Dept - for rubberized safety surfacing for the Tercentennial Playground

  •     Maritime Education Foundation - to sponsor Groton Maritime Academy graduates to sail the Mystic Whaler from NYC back to New London, a three day two night cruise.

Total Funds Dispersed ≈ $5050.00
 

Additionally, $428 was given to the Chikumbuso Project. There will be more given in the 2008-2009 year.

 From Fitch High School, Raysa Florentino was the honored student. From Ledyard HS, Audrey Higgins received our scholarship. This year's adult awardee was Minna DeGeano.
